The Jura Capresso F7’s sleek styling, featuring chrome front panels and detailing, make the F7 as much a piece of art as a powerhouse coffee center. At the heart of the machine is a stainless steel lined Thermoblock boiler that makes it easy to make drink after drink. And with the easy-to-read digital display and programmable brewing buttons, you’re able to make all those drinks at the touch of a button. Holding up to 8 oz of whole beans in its internal hopper, the F7 grinds fresh beans every time you brew - unless you choose to brew using a preground coffee in the bypass doser. After brewing grounds are dispensed in an internal dump box so you can move right on to frothing or steaming using Capresso’s patented Dual position steam wand.

The F7’s digital display walks you through every step of the brewing process, but also provides maintenance and refilling instructions. If you’re out of beans, out of water, or if the machine simply needs to be cleaned, a message will come up on the screen alerting you to do so. Cleaning cycles can be started automatically from the control panel, and to further the ease of maintenance, Capresso has integrated their Clearyl water filtration system into the F7. Using and changing these filters on a regular basis will eliminate the need for descaling and remove impurities like lead, copper, and aluminum from your water to keep every drink tasting great.

The LED digital display dialog system gives you short, plain language readouts on the status of the machine and what mode it is in: "Coffee Ready", "Fill Water", "Clean Unit" for example. Choose from seven languages that can be displayed on the digital LED screen. English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch. From here you can program all of the machine's operating parameters - from coffee strength, temperature, cleaning options, auto-on, auto-off, water hardness settings, and more.
This machine is not only capable of brewing espresso as mentioned above, but it can also produce a popular drink called cafe crème coffee (also known as crema coffee). This coffee is brewed in the same manner as espresso. However, where espresso is brewed relatively slowly (about 15-20 seconds for 1.5 ounces), cafe crème is brewed at a faster rate. Espresso brews slower because the coffee grounds are required to be very fine which restricts the water flow through the grounds. This helps give espresso its intense flavor and strength.
Simply make a small adjustment to the coffee grinder to make the coffee grounds more coarse. This in turn will allow the water to flow more freely through the coffee grounds as required for cafe crème. The result is a wonderfully aromatic and flavor-rich coffee that is smooth and not as intense as espresso, and it will be topped with a layer of crema. Many of our customers are enjoying the use of their machine for this purpose, in addition to espresso. Cafe crème is a good replacement for most coffee makers (like a drip coffee maker), because in about 35 seconds the machine will brew about 5 ounces of fresh pressure-brewed coffee without the mess. Another benefit is that this brewing method requires far less ground coffee per serving thus saving you money! Cafe crème is popular among European consumers.
The frothing tip has two settings for frothing (making foam for cappuccino) and steaming (heating milk for a latte or mocha). A sleeve on the steam pipe moves up to expose more steam ports on the steam pipe. This produces maximum heat output. When the sleeve is moved down, it optimizes the frothing capabilities by concentrating the steam force at the tip. Just push the steam button and immerse the Dual Frother into your milk pitcher for immediate and continuous action.
The F7 features a bypass doser, which allows you to brew using pre-ground coffee instead of the whole beans that are in the bean hopper. As a result, you don’t have to swap the coffee beans each time you want to use another variety, which is difficult and time consuming. Simply pour in pre-ground coffee of your choice and the machine uses that instead of the coffee beans already in the machine.
The Clearyl™ Water Care System removes chlorine, lead, aluminum and copper for better tasting coffee. A special organic additive removes almost all carbon and eliminates decalcifying altogether. The system was specifically designed for use in super automatic coffee centers. The primary reason to use the filter is improve taste and to eliminate the need to perform periodic descaling required by other espresso machines. Use of the filter is optional, but we recommend it.
As long as the machine is turned on, hot water can be instantly dispensed. This is a nice feature for teas, hot chocolate, or other hot beverages that need hot water. Many users make a shot of espresso and then add hot water to make a "Cafe Americano" which is a popular drink. Simply add hot water to your shot of espresso to thin it out a little.
Small 2 oz espresso cups up to large coffee cups can easily fit under the adjustable coffee dispensing nozzle with capacities up to 12 oz depending on the height and shape of your mug.
The built-in water tank holds enough water to produce approximately 40 espressos or 12 large cups of crema coffee. Refilling the water tank is easy by adding water while it's still on the machine or by removing it and filling it at the water tap. The tank has an easy grip handle making removal easy. Made of clear tinted ABS plastic.
The F7 uses an advanced automatic brew system. As the heart of the automatic espresso machine, it accepts freshly ground coffee from the built-in coffee grinder. It tamps the coffee perfectly, pre-soaks the grounds with a special "pre-infusion" step, brews the coffee, and then dumps the used coffee grounds into the internal dump box. Once the brewing cycle has been completed, it resets itself for the next cup of coffee.
The F7 has a maximum pressure output of 18 bars that produces more than enough power for excellent coffee extraction.
The boiler is powered by 1450 watts allowing for continuous use for large numbers of servings in short periods of time. The boiler has been lined with stainless steel so the water used to make coffee does not come in contact with aluminum components.
A professional quality, conical type burr grinder is built-in. When the brew button is pushed the grinder automatically begins grinding the exact amount of coffee beans based on the amount of coffee the machine is going to brew.
"Conical" burr grinding mechanisms are heavy-duty and are usually found on more expensive coffee grinders. It consists of a "cone" shaped grinding wheel that turns slowly to precisely grind the beans consistently without burning them (common on low cost burr grinders). The grinding wheel is made of heavy-duty tempered steel to provide a long service life and resist damage from small pebbles that may be hiding in the coffee beans. Maintenance is easy. Little or no service will be needed.
The built-in coffee bean hopper holds 10 ounces of coffee beans. The hopper has a lid to help keep the coffee beans fresh.
Located under and in front of the unit is a removable drip tray that serves two functions. First it serves as a place to put coffee cups during the brewing process, while catching any spills. Second it catches any excess water and brew system waste resulting from the brewing process. Made of heavy duty shatter proof ABS plastic, it's easy to clean and will last for many years of service. The tray can hold up to 10 oz of waste-water.
The internal dump box catches all of the spent coffee grounds left over from the brewing process. Its large capacity will hold up to 16 spent coffee portions. It removes for easy cleaning and the F7 will automatically let you know when it needs to be emptied.
