If you love to entertain or are just looking for a cost-effective way keep your office staff caffeinated, The Expobar Office Control espresso machine is an outstanding choice.

It takes the traditional semiautomatic espresso machine one step further by incorporating four programmable brew buttons. This feature is a perfect way to simplify espresso making for the less experienced or harried barista. And, like the other Expobar machines, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is exceptional, modeled after their professional line of machines. In fact the Office Control has many of the same features you’d find in a professional machine, starting with the boiler. It’s a large, 1.7-liter heat exchanger copper boiler and has all the controls that are found on the larger commercial machines. It can simultaneously brew and steam, allowing for extensive flexibility. Its heavy-duty chrome-plated brass brew group is commercial caliber as well, working off an electrical 3-way solenoid valve. And the shining star of the assembly is its E61-type group head. Made of chrome-plated marine grade brass, the group head is channel cut (its thermal siphon system) and provides maximum temperature stability imperative to the perfect espresso extraction. The Office Control also pre-infuses your coffee in its chrome-plated portafilter to ensure maximum flavor and aroma.

The Office Control is as handsome as it is durable and easy to use. The black front control panel features the brew buttons with easy-to-understand icons situated between the black, modern looking steam and hot water dispensing knobs. Offsetting the panel is the Control’s stunning stainless steel housing. It also features both a steam wand and hot water dispensing wand of complimentary stainless steel, along with a matching drip tray cover and cup warming surface.

The Expobar Office Control has a five-button touch pad for activating the pump and programming your favorite drinks. The easily programmable controls makes it possible for anyone to operate The Control. There are four buttons that can be preprogrammed to measure the exact amount of coffee going into your cup, and then shut off when the task is complete. And the fifth button is for steam. It’s as easy as that.
The main power rocker switch is the big red button tucked behind the hot water wand. Turn it on, and the round, red temperature light goes on. When that light goes out, you are up to temperature and ready to brew.
Inside, a strong, durable steel frame holds the Control together. And outside, a stainless steel housing encases it. This housing, while beautiful, is also highly functional, making the machine easy to wipe down, and tolerant of a lot of day-to-day wear.
The Office Control has a powerful self-priming vibration pump capable of putting out as much as 15 BAR of pressure, thus making the requisite brewing pressure of 8 to 9 BAR a cinch.
To ensure commercial caliber performance, The Office Control enlists the aid of a commercial caliber brew group of solid chrome-plated brass and features a 3-way solenoid valve. The star of the whole assembly is the E61-type group head, which is the round piece of chrome-plated brass the portafilter locks into. It is channel cut – thermal siphoned – which allows the water to circulate through it before being pressure forced across the coffee grinds n the portafilter. The Control’s dual-spouted portafilter is also constructed of heavy marine grade brass, has a durable plastic handle and holds a 58mm filter brew basket – which is a commercial size basket and also the industry standard. This entire assembly is designed to retain heat at a constant temperature. And this keeps the water at a stable, consistent temperature of 195 degrees at the spout, which is imperative for brewing the perfect espresso.
The three-way solenoid valve is a commercial feature that relieves the water pressure from the machine when the brew switch is turned off, making it possible to immediately begin brewing again. It also pulls the excess water out of the used coffee grinds in the portafilter, making the puck easy to knock out of the portafilter cleanly. It then deposits this water into the drip tray, and you’re ready to reload and brew again.
The large 1.7-liter copper boiler with brass end plate takes about fifteen minutes to heat up. Once it is up to operating pressure, it can brew continuous espressos all day long, and in under 25 seconds each. Due to the boiler’s large size, The Office Control can also pump out many lattes and cappuccinos without any down time. And because it’s a heat exchanger, you have the capability to brew and steam at the same time.
The Office Control also features a series of safety features to preserve the life of the machine and for your protection. If the water level in the boiler gets low. The electronic controls sense this and turn the pump on to automatically fill the boiler. If the reservoir runs out of water a CPU board will turn off the heating element to prevent overheating. A manual reset high temperature switch is located on top of the boiler as a secondary safety switch. The boiler temperature/pressure is controlled through a professional grade pressure controller. It senses the pressure in the boiler and turns on the heating element in the boiler as the pressure drops.
The stainless steel steam wand is long and is high enough off the counter to easily fit any frothing pitcher without having to tip it. It is mounted on a ball joint that can swing in any direction. It also has a heat resistant grip so you don’t burn your fingers when you’re using it. To begin steaming, just hit the steam button and turn the steam knob. It can heat 8 ounces of milk in a speedy 64 seconds.
The Control’s hot water dispenser is made of a durable, sleek stainless steel and is mounted on a ball joint so it can pivot in any direction, making it easy to access for any size cup, mug or pitcher. Also you can use it to pre-warm your cups to keep your espresso nice and hot. Simply turn the black knob on the right side of the control panel and start pouring.
Preheat up to 14 espresso cups at one time using the passive cup warmer on the top of The Office Control. Passive means it doesn’t have its own heating element, but warms using the heat the boiler gives off. The surface is stainless steel so it’s easy to wipe down.
The drip tray is made of durable matching plastic so it can handle continual use. It holds up to 32 ounces of excess water and coffee, but easily slides on and off for emptying. Atop it, sits the stainless steel drip tray cover that pops right out for cleaning.
The removable, 2-liter reservoir is made of durable ABS plastic for years of service. It can easily be removed for cleaning, and refilling.
The accessories include a chrome plated brass portafilter, tamper, single shot filter basket, double shot filter basket and a 7-gram coffee scoop.
