Gaggia’s Espresso line is perfect for the home barista on a budget. These very reasonably priced machines each feature a stainless steel boiler for excellent brewing and steaming, a Pannarello frothing wand, and a chrome-plated brass commercial style portafilter that accepts both pods and ground coffee. The Gaggia Espresso Dose goes beyond those features in offering programmable water volume for your shots of espresso. You can set the water volume to your preferred amount, and the Dose will automatically brew using that much water in the future.

Stainless Steel Boiler |
The stainless steel boiler provides excellent heat retention for proper brewing and extraction, and powers both steaming and brewing so you can make cappuccinos, lattes, steamers, and more. Stainless steel is durable, and resists lime scale build up. |
Program Water Volume |
To program the water volume, insert the portafilter and coffee to brew, then press and hold the programming button. Coffee will begin dispensing, so release the programming button when you have your desired volume. The Gaggia Espresso Dose is now set to brew that amount of coffee from now on. |
Brew Using Pods or Ground |
The Gaggia Espresso Dose includes 3 filter baskets – one for single shots, one for pods, and one for double shots. This way, it’s up to you whether you prefer to measure and tamp ground beans yourself, or use pre-packaged single serving coffee pods. |
Pannarello Frothing Wand |
To create thick foam and velvety steamed milk, the Gaggia Espresso Dose uses a Pannarello frothing wand, which is specially designed to aid frothing and steaming. Press the steam button, then open the steam knob to release steam. Close the knob and press the steam button again when you’re done. |
Hot Water Dispenser |
The Pannarello frothing wand can also be used as a hot water dispenser. Once the machine is at brewing temperature, you can open the steam knob and press the brew button to release hot water. Press the brew button again and close the steam knob to stop the flow of water. |
Water Reservoir |
The 42 oz removable water reservoir is located on the back of the machine. You can use filtered water to reduce the need to descale. The water reservoir should be rinsed to keep your coffee tasting fresh. |
Machine Maintenance |
To keep the housing of the Espresso Dose looking its best, wipe it down with a damp cloth. The drip tray and cover can be removed and rinsed, and the frothing wand should be wiped down after every use to prevent milk residue buildup. |
