Each carton contains 3 charcoal water filters. Each filter lasts for 6 weeks or 60 pots of coffee. They remove up to 80% of the chlorine taste and other impurities found in regular tap water. Filtered water will greatly improve the taste of your coffee and also protect the coffee maker's internal components.
