The KitchenAid Pro Line Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine is designed for the home, but features professional-quality materials. The Pro Line features a commercial-caliber brew group and a 58mm portafilter-- both constructed of chrome plated brass for better temperature consistency. The 3-way solenoid valve for instant depressurization after brewing eliminates dripping and wait time between shots. The Pro Line boasts a large, removable 2-liter reservoir, and a strong vibration pump.

Brew and steam at the same time without any temperature fluctuation with its double-boiler system. The Pro Line also offers dual pressure gauges-– one to monitor brewing temperature and one to monitor steaming temperature. The free-swinging stainless steel wand controls the steam and hot water. The Pro Line also comes with a pannarello wand, which easily slides on and off for professional-quality frothing.

The Pro Line may be of professional quality, but its stylish features and pearlized metallic gray finish will compliment any kitchen decor. The solid black metal surface works to conduct heat. The removable drip tray has a water-level sensor to prevent overflow. The removable drip tray cover is made of stainless steel. The passive cup warmer sits on top, inside the stainless steel cup rail.

The Pro Line is encased in a durable, die-cast metal housing painted in a pearlized, metallic gray-- easy to keep shiny, easy to wipe down.
The brew group can brew upon request and hold the heat with consistency and stability. Constructed of solid chrome-plated brass, this brew group is similar to the ones you’ll find in professional machines for optimal and consistent temperature control.
The Pro Line portafilter chrome-plated brass dual-spouted filter holder keeps the temperature stable during the brewing process. The handle is made of high-quality, light-weight plastic, and it has a standard commercial-sized diameter of 58mm.
Operating off an electrical 3-way solenoid valve is a heavy-duty, high-performance vibration pump system that delivers a consistent and uniform pump pressure of 9 bars. Simply press the brew button on the front to turn the valve switches on. This will begin the pressure brewing process. Turn the brew button off and the valve will release the water and excess steam into the drip tray. This makes for a drier puck (used coffee grounds)that is easier to knock out of the portafilter. It also immediately depressurizes the brew group to eliminate wait time between shots.
A rarity in home espresso machines, the Pro Line features a double boiler system, with each aluminum boiler holding 3.2 ounces. This allows you to steam and brew at the same time, plus you never have to deal with temperature fluctuation that naturally occurs when you have to switch back and forth between brewing and steaming. Each boiler is protected by a high limit safety switch, which will automatically shut down the boilers if they become overheated. Topping it off, you get 9 BAR pressure with the self-priming vibration pump.

The Pro Line has easy to use controls: The on/off switch comes complete with power-on indicator light. Push on the brew button to start the brewing process, and press it again to turn it off. Twin temperature gauges are located in the middle of the machine. The top one monitors the brewing boiler, and the bottom button monitors the steam boiler’s temperature. Above the steam and hot water station is the steam dial.
Made of durable smoked plastic is the large removable 2-liter (67-ounce) reservoir. Easily removable for refilling, it does require unplugging and turning the machine around or simply sliding the reservoir about 3 inches to the left and refilling it with a pitcher. This can be done while the machine is operating, but is not recommended.
Made of solid metal, a natural heat conductor, the passive cup warmer comfortably holds 6 espresso cups. The surface is warmed by the heat from the boilers, eliminating the need for its own separate heating element. The stainless steel rail protect the cups from falling off should the machine get bumped or jostled.
The Pro Line is ESE pod capable – the standard industry sized pod-- the pods are available anywhere, including the local grocery store. Place the pod in the single shot filter basket-- this allows the pod to sit high enough against the shower screen for the water to run through it, not around it.
The hot water and steam are dispensed from the same wand, and you can do it with or without the pannarello wand in place. Simply press and hold the hot water button and turn the steam dial. When you're finished, simply release the hot water button, and turn the steam dial off.
The steaming station is separate from the brewing station so you steam or froth and brew at the same time. The stainless steel steam wand is mounted on a ball joint to accommodate any size container and for easy mobility. The Pro Line comes with a pannarello wand that easily attaches to the steam wand/hot water wand for professional frothing capabilities. Slip it on and start frothing. The Pro Line also comes with its own 8 1/2-ounce stainless steel frothing pitcher.
