The CPM Handle Dynamic Tamper takes the guesswork out of tamping your grounds. Holding the portafilter with the grounds in one hand and the tamper in your other hand, simply take the tamper’s bottom plate and and press down. Keep pressing until the internal spring is released and a click is heard. Then release gently and twist the tamper 180º on the portafilter. You’re now ready to brew your coffee. To adjust the pressure of the tamper, either screw (to increase the pressure for grounds packed more tightly) or unscrew (to decrease the pressure so water can flow through more freely) the top part of the tamper. Weighing in at over a pound, this tamper is capable of exerting over 30 lbs of consistent, dynamic pressure onto your grounds. Designed by the Italian company Macap, designer of the Macap grinders.
