In 1970, the Italian espresso company ECM (Espresso Company Milano) was founded and soon became known for developing the Giotto – the first commercial quality domestic espresso machine. By 2007, ECM decided to focus on producing commercial equipment, though the Giotto model still remained. This was when Rocket Espresso was born. Their purpose was to “give a new lease on life” to ECM’s domestic products, the Giotto and the more recently developed Cellini.
