Features
The latest addition to the Rocket Espresso Giotto line of prosumer espresso machines, the Premium Plus retains much of its commercial design and components but has added a number of new features to enhance usability. A redesigned thermo siphon system, allows for greater water flow between the brew group and reservoir, and a water-level indication warning system has been added to the unit. New stainless-steel legs, with slip-free feet, make the Giotto Premium Plus easier to maintain. As with the original Giotto, a nickel-plated copper boiler with lead-free brass end plates, commercial brew group, and a heavy-duty stainless steel body comes standard.
Brewing - The Rocket Espresso Giotto uses a lever-operated brewing system, so it looks different than other semi-automatic espresso machines. Still, brewing is simple. Lift the lever up to begin brewing espresso, and pull it all the way down to stop the flow of espresso. Pulling the lever all the way down until you hear the pump stop also causes the 3-way solenoid valve to release the pressure that was building in the boiler, so you might see a small puff of steam and a little bit of water released when the lever is pulled all the way down.
Commercial-Grade Features - With a 1.8 liter boiler, the Rocket Espresso Giotto has more than enough hot water for plenty of brewing and steaming. The boiler is made out of nickel plated copper, an ideal material for heat retention, and features a lead-free brass endplate for additional heat retention. The Giotto itself weighs in at 46 lbs, thanks to its heavy-duty metal components and heat retaining features.
E61 Brew Group - The E61 brew group is where your brewing takes place. It is mounted on the front of the machine, and provides excellent heat retention for brewing thanks to its material (chrome plated brass) and design (channels cut into the group head ensure continuous circulation of water for consistent, stable temperature).
Steaming - The stainless steel steam wand has a steam pressure gauge so you know when the wand is ready to dispense steam. It is located on the left side of the machine, and to begin steaming, all you have to do is open the steam nozzle.
Hot Water - For tea, instant soup, hot cocoa, or an americano, the hot water nozzle comes in handy. You can rotate it out away from the machine for convenience, and simply open the knob to release hot water from the boiler. Close the knob when you have enough water.
Pods - The Rocket Espresso Giotto is not pod-capable. Brew only using fresh ground coffee for the highest quality espresso.
Accessories - The Rocket Espresso Giotto comes with a single shot filter holder, double shot filter holder, single shot filter basket, double shot filter basket, tamper, measuring spoon, and detailed instruction manual.
