Digital Display & Control |
The machine may have a long name, but it has a list of features to match. From the control panel, you can adjust the brewing temperature of the machine; set the machine for pre-infusion; set the machines standby time; set the machine for "pre-grind" so that when you activate the brew button, the coffee has already been ground and it brews right away while grinding for the next person; set the language; set the machine's water hardness level monitor; view the number of cups brewed; set the energy saving mode; and more. All the controls are located in one convenient place on the front of the machine. They are laid out to be easy to understand and for ease of use. |
Programming Volume |
Set the machine to brew a short espresso, long espresso, and cafe crema with the help of three different brewing buttons. Programming is a snap: simply press and hold the button you want to program. As the machine starts brewing, you will see the display change to "Programming". When you release the button, the machine will use whatever volume of brew produced during the programming as the preset volume for the subsequent times that button is pressed. |
Single Shot or Double Shot of Espresso |
Want a single? Press any of the three brewing buttons once. Want a double? Just press the button twice and the machine automatically sets up to brew two shots. No wonder these machines are called super. |
Electronic Sensors |
The machine is equipped with sensors that tell when the water reservoir is empty or the hopper has run out of coffee beans. If an important component is out of place, such as the drip tray, service door, brew group, or grounds dump box, the display will prompt you to refill the water tank or beans, or to check the component in question. |
Crema Coffee Center |
Simply make a small adjustment to the coffee grinder to make the coffee grounds coarser – this allows the water to flow more freely through the coffee grounds as required for café crema. The result is a wonderfully aromatic and crema-topped brew that is smooth and not as intense as espresso. Many of our customers enjoy the use of their machine for this purpose in addition to espresso. Café crema is a good replacement for drip coffee because in about 35 seconds, the machine will brew about 5 ounces of fresh pressure-brewed coffee without the mess. This brewing method also requires far less ground coffee per serving, saving you money. |
Advanced Brew System |
The machine uses an advanced automatic brew group. Acting as the heart of the automatic espresso machine, it accepts freshly ground coffee from the built-in coffee grinder. It tamps the coffee perfectly, pre-soaks the grounds with a special "pre-infusion" step, brews the coffee, and then dumps the used coffee grounds into the internal dump box. Once the brewing cycle has been completed, it resets itself for the next cup of coffee. The brew group is removable so cleaning and maintenance can be performed. |
Pre-Infusion Cycle |
The two-step pre-infusion cycle moistens and conditions the ground coffee, maximizing flavor extraction to increase the layer of crema on your espresso. The Digital Master 5000 accomplishes this by infusing the fresh coffee grounds with hot water for about 2 seconds. Then it completes the brewing process by infusing the remainder of the predetermined water through the coffee grounds. The result is a superior beverage. |
Steam Wand |
Steaming and frothing milk for lattes and cappuccino is easy thanks to the Digital Master’s powerful steam wand. Virtually unlimited steam capacity makes large steaming jobs a snap because unlike many conventional espresso machines, the Digital Master 5000 continually replenishes spent steam. The milk froth-aid tip supplied with the machine is designed to insure virtually perfect foam for cappuccino or lattes, even if you’re just beginning. The steam wand is located on the right front of the machine on a swivel joint, which allows you to place either a 12 oz. or 20 oz. frothing pitcher underneath. |
Hot Water Dispenser |
As long as the machine is turned on hot water can be instantly dispensed from the steam wand – a useful feature for teas, hot chocolate, or other hot beverages that need hot water. Many users make a shot of espresso then add hot water from the steam wand to make an americano. |

Professional Quality Conical Coffee Grinder with 18 Settings |
The Solis Digital 5000 features a built-in professional quality conical type burr grinder. When the brew button is pushed, the grinder automatically begins grinding the correct amount of coffee beans based on the amount of coffee the machine is going to brew.
Conical burr grinding mechanisms consist of a cone shaped grinding wheel that turns slowly to grind the beans consistently and evenly without burning them, a common problem on low cost grinders. The grinding wheel is made of tempered heavy-duty steel, and the built-in coffee bean hopper holds over a 10.5 oz of whole coffee beans, keeping them fresh and ready for your next brew. |
Water System |
The Solis Digital Master 5000 makes it easy to refill the 64 oz reservoir – remove it from the back of the machine using the easy grip handles. Clear tinted ABS plastic gives you an indication of the amount of water remaining, and the machine will tell you when you are out of water as indicated by a red light. A powerful, 15-bar vibration pump provides more than enough energy to pull a superior shot of espresso. |
Heated Cup Stacking Surface |
A convenient cup-stacking surface is located on top of the machine. Warm cups are important in making a great shot of espresso because you're dealing with very small volumes of liquid, which cool off rapidly when they’re poured into a cold cup. |
Adjustable Coffee Dispensing Nozzle |
Small 2 oz. espresso cups up to large coffee cups 4" in height can easily fit under the adjustable coffee-dispensing nozzle. Move it up or down depending on your cup size – you can even move it during the brewing process. |
Internal Dump Box for Used Coffee Grounds |
The internal dump box catches all of the spent coffee grounds left over from the brewing process, holding up to 40 spent coffee portions. Remove it to dispose of the grounds, and clean with warm water and non-abrasive detergent. |
Slide Out Drip Tray |
A single drawer containing the drip tray and cover slides out from the front of the machine. It’s made of durable plastic and cleans easily in the kitchen sink with water and mild detergent. |
