Easy to Use Control Panel |
The control panel is laid out to be simple and easy to use. It has three buttons and a dial. The first button on the upper right is the main power control. Push the button in the middle to activate the steam mode, which will preheat the boiler for steam production. Forty seconds later, the machine will be ready to dispense unlimited steam from the steam wand. The steam control knob located on the right side of the machine releases steam for preparing lattes or cappuccinos. The third button starts the brewing cycle, and if pushed twice in quick succession, will double the volume of espresso or coffee that you have programmed with the volume dial. |
The dial located next to the buttons is for adjusting the volume of water the machine will use for each brewing cycle. Turn the dial clockwise to increase the volume for larger cups of espresso/coffee, and turn it counter-clockwise to decrease the volume. Once you find the brew volume you like, every time you press the corresponding brew button the machine will deliver the exact preset volume of liquid. |

Crema Coffee Center |
Simply make a small adjustment to the coffee grinder to make the coffee grounds coarser. This in turn will allow the water to flow more freely through the coffee grounds as required for cafe crema. The result is a wonderfully aromatic and flavor-rich coffee that is smooth and not as intense as espresso, topped with a layer of crema. Many of our customers are enjoying the use of their machine for this purpose in addition to espresso. Cafe crème is a good replacement for most coffee makers, like a drip coffee maker, because in about 35 seconds, the machine will brew about 5 ounces of fresh pressure-brewed coffee without the mess. |
Make a Single or Double, Your Choice |
The Master 5000 offers a variety of ways to brew espresso or coffee. Press a button once to brew a single shot. Press it twice to brew a double. Simply turn the volume knob to change your brewing volume, giving you enough variety for a wide range of brew choices. The dial volume control allows up to 8 ounces to be brewed in one session. |
Pre-Infusion Cycle |
The two-step pre-infusion cycle moistens and conditions the ground coffee, which maximizes flavor extraction to increase the thick crema on your espresso. The Master 5000 accomplishes this by infusing the fresh coffee grounds with a dash of hot water for 2 seconds. Thereafter, it completes the brewing process by infusing the remainder of the water through the coffee grounds. The result? A superior shot of espresso. |
Steam Wand |
Heating and frothing milk for a latte or cappuccino is easy thanks to the powerful steam wand. Virtually unlimited steam capacity makes large steaming jobs a snap because unlike many conventional espresso machines, the Solis Master 5000 continually replenishes spent steam. The optional milk froth-aid tip supplied with the machine is specially designed to insure virtually perfect foam for a cappuccino or café breve, even if you are a novice. The steam wand is located on the right front of the machine on a swivel joint, which allows you to place either a 12 oz. or 20 oz. frothing pitcher underneath. |
Hot Water Dispenser |
As long as the machine is turned on hot water can be instantly dispensed from the steam wand. This is a nice feature for teas, hot chocolate, or other hot beverages that need hot water. Many users make a shot of espresso, and then add hot water from the steam wand to make an americano. |

Professional Quality Conical Coffee Grinder with 18 Settings |
When the brew button is pushed, the built in conical burr grinder automatically begins grinding the exact amount of coffee beans needed. Conical burr grinding mechanisms are heavy duty and are usually found on professional coffee grinders. They consist of a "cone" shaped grinding wheel that turns slowly to grind the beans consistently and evenly without burning them, a common problem on low cost blade grinders. The grinding wheel is made of tempered heavy-duty steel to provide a long service life and resists small pebbles that may be hiding in the coffee beans. The built-in coffee bean hopper holds 10.5 oz of coffee beans, while its plastic lid helps keep the coffee beans fresh. |
1.8 Liter Built-in Water Reservoir |
The Solis Master 5000 makes it easy to refill the reservoir by allowing you to remove it and fill it at the water tap. It even has an easy grip handle to make removal easy. Clear tinted ABS plastic gives you an indication of the amount of water remaining, and the machine will tell you when you are out of water as indicated by a red light. |
Heated Cup Stacking Surface |
A convenient cup-stacking surface is located on top of the machine. Warm cups are desired in making perfect espresso because you're dealing with very small volumes of liquid, which can cool off rapidly if poured into a cold cup. |
Adjustable Coffee Dispensing Nozzle |
Small 2 oz. espresso cups up to large coffee cups 4" in height can easily fit under the adjustable coffee-dispensing nozzle. It moves up or down to accept many cup sizes and can be moved during the brewing process. |
Internal Dump Box for Used Coffee Grounds |
The internal dump box catches all of the spent coffee grounds left over from the brewing process. Its large capacity will hold up to 40 spent coffee portions. It can be removed for disposal and easy cleaning. |
Slide Out Drip Tray |
A single drawer slides out from the front of the machine. It contains the drip tray and cover. Made of durable plastic, it cleans easily in the kitchen sink with water and mild detergent. |
A Powerful Pump Insures Perfect Coffee Extraction |
The on-board self-priming pressure pump produces a maximum brewing pressure of 15 bars. This long-lasting internal pump works quietly and steadily to produce the correct amount of pressure. |
Smart Sensors |
The machine is equipped with sensors that tell when the water reservoir is empty or when it has run out of coffee beans. If an important component is out of place, such as the drip tray, service door, brew system, or grounds dump box, a red light will illuminate. |
