Baratza Vario Grinder

Baratza Vario Grinder
$449.00

Review Date - 02/18/2013
Initially I purchased this grinder to be dedicated for espresso grinds only, relying on a cheaper burr grinder to take care of french press and drip grinding needs. But soon after purchasing, the latter conked out so now we use the Vario for everything and it hasn't disappointed. The range of grinds is great; espresso fine/fine is more than powdery enough for my Gaggia Classic and press coarse/coa ... read more

Rancilio Rocky

Rancilio Rocky
$355.00

Review Date - 01/10/2013
I purchased the Rocky in a package deal with the Gaggia Classic just before Christmas and it works great and as advertised. I've always loved espresso coffee but have never owned a machine of my own. From all the information provided on this site and others I understood how important a good grinder is to making good coffee. The Rancilio Rocky is a great grinder and is really easy to use. ... read more

Rancilio Doserless Rocky

Great grinder, I have had mine for years. My only complaint is that it does not come with a container to catch the grinds. Directly into the Portafilter is a bit messy and requires clean up after each use. I use a container from an earlier grinder i had which fits perfectly underneath and easily can then be poured into your Portafilter with no mess to clean up. I strongly recommend providing this ... read more

Pasquini Lux Grinder

Pasquini Lux Grinder
$305.00

Review Date - 12/10/2009
I have had this grinder for over a year. As other reviewers have commented, it does not do well for coarse ground coffee. It won't even go all the way to the most coarse setting. IMO it works best for espresso. If the bean is roasted to FC, right before second crack or no more than 5 seconds into second crack, the grinder works pretty well. Most of the grind gets into the portafilter. However,  ... read more

I got this grinder with my Rancilio Silvia. Before purchase, I was a little concerned with some of the negative reviews, but after speaking with several people, and several sales-people, decided to try it. I have not been disappointed at all! The tables that tell you how to set your grinder for various brews are close enough that I only had to do a very little micro adjusting to get a perfect ... read more

La Pavoni Burr Grinder

La Pavoni Burr Grinder
$269.00 - $299.00

Review Date - 03/25/2011
I bought this unit with expectations that with its price and Italian origin it would last nearly a lifetime. It was nice while it lasted but unfortunately a rock got caught in the works. The interior parts are made of plastic, and replacement parts are no longer available. I am now the proud owner of a nearly $300 paperweight. ... read more
